Wheat Ridge Recreation Center

The Wheat Ridge Recreation Center has an open pool session on Sundays starting January 19th, 2025.

Sessions are from 1-3pm and cost $16.

Rules

  1. All boats must be thoroughly washed with freshwater in the pool area before they can be put in the pool water, no exceptions.
  2. Boats should be dropped off in the labeled drop-off area on the concrete (not the asphalt). Vehicles may only stop in this area to unload their kayak, and then leave to park in the public parking areas.
  3. The service road for kayak drop-off is one-way – only enter from the back of the parking lot. Do not enter at the front entrance off 39th Ave. When you enter at the parking lot side, you will drive past a “do not enter – deliveries only” sign.
  4. All kayakers must check in at the front desk. Let front desk staff know you are checking in for kayaking and you’ll receive a kayak wristband. All kayaking participants must have a kayak wristband. Spectators will not be permitted to enter the facility without paying standard facility admission, as this drop-in time is during our normal operational hours.

Did you know this pool session happens because of Colorado Whitewater volunteers and staff?

Colorado Whitewater works every year to ensure pool sessions are available around the state. For every session that happens we usually need to talk to 3-4 pools to find one who will work with boaters. This requires hours of meetings and negotiations. If you'd like to support us, you can become a member of the club, or a give a donation using the form below. Thanks!
